HOW DOES IT WORK?
MicroBIOstatic Clean Systems are an EPA-registered antimicrobial technology that protects against microbes, such as viruses, bacteria, and molds. When applied to a surface, incorporated into a material or rubbed onto hands, the MicroBIOstatic antimicrobial coating forms a covalent bond with the surface.
The coating forms a nano-bed shield of spikes (self assembling monolayer), each of which carry a positive charge that attracts the negatively charged bacteria. Once attracted, the molecular spikes pierce the cell and rupture its cell membrane, causing the bacterial microorganism to die. Unlike chemical antimicrobial processes, the mechanical structures (spikes) remain after destroying the microorganism, ready to go head to head with the next microbe.
